Sustainability is a core belief of our group of hotels and an integrated sustainable policy is implemented to every conceivable operational process, proactively across all functions and levels. The hotels adopt best practices in environmental and social governance in harmony with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the Millennium Development Goals and adopts Global Reporting Initiative Sustainable Reporting

The hotels sustainability objectives revolve around

• Enrich the lives of employees by providing a safe working environment, conducive to learning and maturing not just professionally, but personally too, thus creating responsible citizens of the future.
• Manage the carbon footprint by implementing best practices in terms of energy, green cover, transport, resource management and getting involved in replanting the seeds of a healthy environment.
• Reaching out to the communities that the hotels are directly and indirectly associated with such that their immediate and future prospects are considerably improved. Projects are aimed at not only creating livelihoods, but also bringing about a change in outlook so as to make communities more cooperative and tolerable towards one another.

In order to share the best practices we feel that documentation is of utmost importance and that’s exactly why we have invested time and resources to measure and document sustainability related activities undertaken on a daily basis, this information is presented in a sustainable review and report as per the Global Reporting Initiative, level B.

	Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedara During the day at Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedara, the solar panels will initially top up the charge level of the batteries. Once completed, the excess generated power will be sent to the grid. The plant capacity is 3.5 kW, producing approximately 4,500 kWh annually. This is the first hybrid system in the country and also the first hotel to have a net metering connection. Read More
