Ceylon cinnamon is more than a spice. It is a craft shaped by patience, skill and tradition passed down through generations in Sri Lanka.
The cinnamon tree is carefully nurtured and can be harvested continuously as it grows. Skilled harvesters return to the same trees, ensuring the plant remains healthy while providing bark year after year.
The process begins by gently scraping away the outer layer of the branch, revealing the delicate inner bark that holds the true essence of Ceylon cinnamon.
This inner bark is then carefully extracted by hand, a precise technique that requires experience to ensure the strips remain intact and of the highest quality.
Once removed, the bark is left to dry naturally. As it dries, it curls and rolls into the familiar cinnamon quills known around the world, carrying the signature aroma of #Ceyloncinnamon.
