Sustainability at Heritance Aarah

From purchasing fresh tuna from the local fishing community, to the elimination of single use plastic water bottles and a drastic reduction of overall use of plastic at our eco resort in Maldives, Heritance Aarah is committed to day-to-day eco-friendly practices that serve our environment in the long run.

During your stay with us, you might like to visit a live Maldivian village museum to immerse yourself in the local culture and customs, or learn more about our coral plating project which has to date covered over 800 square feet of the ocean’s floor. Some of our notable achievements in the last year include:

• Using Forest Stewardship Council certified papers in our daily operation
• The collection and safe disposal of 115,200 cigarette buds
• Purchasing Cadjan bundles from the local community
• Making the switch from plastic to paper straws, which saved 182,500 plastics straws from landfills
• Making the switch to biodegradable materials like, bags, paper plates and cups and glass water bottles
• The introduction of an organic herb and vegetable garden
